AsiaInfo Services 12-14-2006 china unicom ltd.[(chu)] China to Set Mobile Phone Standard BEIJING, Dec 14, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- International Telecommunication Union has granted China Unicom toset down dual-mode-dual-baseboard standard of mobile phone, which will be the first mobile phone standard established by Chinese telecom carrier. Chang Xiaobing, board chairman of China Unicom, told that the company was doing the research.
Dual-mode-dual-baseboard is one of the dual modes technologies and mobile phone users can make access to both G network and C network simultaneously.The technology will be the focus of the telecommunication industry and will attract more customers.
