AsiaInfo Services 12-19-2006 ABC Guangdong Achieves Deposits Exceeding CNY500bn BEIJING, Dec 19, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Guangdong Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) achieved deposits of over CNY 500 billion as of December 3, 2006, becoming the bank's first provincial branch exceeding this threshold. Jia Xiangsen, president of ABC Guangdong revealed that the branch just held CNY 1.9 billion deposits when it was rebuilt up in 1979 and spent 17 years to increase the figure to CNY 100 billion.
However, from CNY 400 billion to CNY 500 billion, it cost less than two years. Yang Kun, vice president of ABC introduced that the total deposit balances in Guangdong branch reached CNY 506.4 billion as of December 10, 2006, a growth of CNY 65.3 billion...
