AsiaInfo Services 01-05-2007 ASUSTeK Seeks expansion in Mainland SHANGHAI, Jan 05, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- The global leader in mainboard production, ASUSTeK Computer Inc., announced recently that it would respectively invest USD 50, 20 and 2 million in three subsidiaries in Shanghai and Suzhou, to lift operation benefits. The Shanghai subsidiary of a total area of 3,000 mu (1 mu = 667square meters), situated in Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone, is the largest research and development base of the Taiwan-based corporation in the world.

It will get a total planned investment of USD 1.5 billion. The USD 400 million invested in the Phase I project has been put into operation in last June, and is expected to realize a total production capacity of 9 million...
