AsiaInfo Services 01-09-2007 Rakuten, Inc. to Open Online Shops in China JAPAN, Jan 09, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Rakuten, Inc., the controller of the largest online shopping mall in Japan, announced recently that it would open online shops in China, to enlarge its overseas revenues. First two Chinese online shops will be situated in major cities like Shanghai and Beijing, said Hiroshi Mikitani, president of Rakuten, which will build an operating system including Chinese websites at first, then local offices within 2007.
