AsiaInfo Services 01-11-2007 China Unicom to Order Low-end CDMA Handsets SHANGHAI, Jan 11, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom Limited plans to customize 2 million low-end CDMA mobile phones in 2007, so as to reduce the price and take more market share in the industry. China Unicom, one of the top three telecommunication operator in China, has appointed its subsidiary Unicom Huasheng Telecommunication Technology Co.
Ltd to purchase 2 million low-end CDMA mobile phones of ten types from seven manufacturers like Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, LG, Huawei, Hisense and ZTE. General manager of Unicom Huasheng Telecommunication Technology Yu Yingtao told that the low-end handsets would be sold at CNY 400 each and has long standby time (10 days) and talk time. ...
