AsiaInfo Services 01-15-2007 PetroChina to Develop Forestry Biomass Energy BEIJING, Jan 15, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- PetroChina Company Limited, the largest petroleum company in China, has signed an agreement with State Forestry Bureau of China on developing forestry biomass energy and building forestry bases for biomass energy production in Yunnan Province and Sichuan Province. According to the agreement, PetroChina will increase its annual production capacity of non-grain ethanol to over 2 million tons taking 40% of the total capacity in China in 2010.

It will also produce 200,000 tons of forestry biological diesel-fuel annually and will build more than 6 million mu (1mu=667 square meters) of biomass energy forestry. Forestry biomass energy project is...
