AsiaInfo Services 01-29-2007 Chinese Cotton Saw Fast Purchase and Sale Last Dec. BEIJING, Jan 29, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Cotton price rose again in China last December, with the purchase and sale accelerating pace meanwhile, said the National Development and Reform Commission. As of the end of last December, seed cotton selected by Chinese planters accounted for 99.4% of predicted amount.
By the price-rising stimulation of ginned cotton, price of seed cotton has kept increasing steadily since the very month. Along with the price rise, planters' selling progress hit 86.9% averagely, declining 3.8 percentage points year on year; cotton-processing enterprises' distribution progress touched 38%, soaring 6.7 percentage points over the previous year.
