AsiaInfo Services 02-02-2007 China's A-Share Market in 2006: 71 IPOs Raise CNY160bn SHANGHAI, Feb 02, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- There were 71 companies launching IPOs in the Chinese A-share market in 2006, and they raised nearly CNY 160 billion capital, according to the People's Bank of China, central bank of the country. Almost all public companies accomplished non-tradable share reform and resumed new share offering last year, which prompted stock indexes and turnover to create new records. Shanghai Composite Index hit 1,313 in March 2006, the highest point since the non-tradable share reform in April 2005.
