AsiaInfo Services 02-08-2007 Unicom's CDMA Business Profitable BEIJING, Feb 08, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- CDMA revenue of China Unicom, the second largest mobile telecom carrier in China's mainland, grew dramatically in 2006, touching profitability for the first time in the past five years. Industry analysts say that the dual-mode mobile phones were the sticking point of the profitability, especially that of CoolPad. An executive from China Unicom says that his company has made great achievement by pushing low-end CDMA mobile phones and high-end dual-mode handsets. Lately CoolPad unveiled CoolPad 768 CDMA/GSM dual-mode mobile phones, making the number of dual-mode mobile phones to 15, half of which are CoolPad products.
