AsiaInfo Services 03-02-2007 Samsung Spends CNY1bn in Building LCD Panel Plant in Suzhou SUZHOU, Mar 02, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Samsung, a global leadingelectronics producer, officially starts constructing the No.2 plant for liquid crystal displays with a totalinvestment of CNY 1.047 billion, in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province,on March 1. The plant, which is expected to start production this September, will help increase Samsung's monthly output of LCD panels to 5 million sets from 3 million sets for now.
It will engage in the production of large-sized LCD panels used in TVs, rather than the computer-used panels manufactured in the No.1 plant. The project is to meet the fast-growing demand for LCD-TVs in China recently, and to consolidate the global-leading...
