AsiaInfo Services 03-20-2007 Novartis' Expansion Continues in China BEIJING, Mar 20, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Novartis AG, the world's fourth-largest pharmaceutical company, plans to invest more in research and development of the Chinese herbal medicine. Last February, the Switzerland-based company invested USD 175 million in building a pharmaceutical plant in East China's Suzhou,Jiangsu Province.
And the plant, which is going to run into service next month, will become one of the company's largest raw materials production base worldwide. Besides, the expansion of the company's pharmaceutical plant in Beijing, which is likely to enlarge its previous production capacity by 200%, will come into use in the second half of this year.
