GM TO RESUME A BUICK PRODUCTION LINE

AsiaInfo Services 03-26-2007 GM to Resume a Buick Production Line BEIJING, Mar 26, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- General Motors Corporation, the world's No. 1 automaker, will restart a production line in a bid to rejuvenate the 104-year Buick brand in the US and drive up its sales in China, the company disclosed on March 20. The production line, which been used in 1958, will manufacture sedans under the Buick brand, such as LaCrosse and Lucerne, said a source from GM. The automaker will develop car models, which are well received in China and the US.

Presently, the company has not planned to sell China-made sedans under the Buick to the US. Sedans under the Buick brand saw global sales of 567,000 cars globally last year, going up 3 percent versus 2005....
