AsiaInfo Services 04-12-2007 China Unicom Partners with CRI to Offer Mobile TV Service BEIJING, Apr 12, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom, the nation's second-biggest mobile phone operator, has entered into an agreement with China Radio International (CRI) to launch handheld mobile radio and TV series. Earlier, CRI, the only multi-language broadcaster of the country, has just gained the third national mobile phone TV license by China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the industry authority.

Shanghai Media Group and CCTV won the other two issued previously. China Unicom's CDMA1X handset users will be able to enjoy the CRI audio and video programs at home and abroad. Mobile phone TV will become a common 3G service. The...
