AsiaInfo Services 04-13-2007 Record Firms Sue Yahoo! China for Copyright Infringement BEIJING, Apr 13, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Eleven record companies worldwide filed a lawsuit against Yahoo! China, claiming indemnity of total CNY 5.50 million for copyright infringement. The suitors include almost all international well-known record companies, such as EMI Recorded Music, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment. The record companies stated that Alibaba.com has been providing audition and download services of 223 Chinese and English songs, in which that they own the production right, to public via the website of its subsidiary Yahoo!
