AsiaInfo Services 04-20-2007 China Telecom to Test AVS BEIJING, Apr 20, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Telecom Corporation Limited., one of largest telecommunication operators in China, will take an evaluation test and on-the-spot tryout on AVS, a coding method, said Wei Leping, general engineer of the company, at a meeting for its IPTV development. IPTV, or Internet Protocol Television, is such a system that television and video signals can be delivered to subscribers through broadband. China Telecom adopted the global standard of H.264 in its IPTV system.
