WAL-MART TO PURCHASE 2MN HD-DVD FROM FUH YUAN

AsiaInfo Services 04-25-2007 Wal-Mart to Purchase 2mn HD-DVD from Fuh Yuan TAIWAN, Apr 25, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, plans to purchase 2 million HD-DVD players, worth USD 300 million in total, from Taiwan-based manufacturer Fuh Yuan Electronics Development within the following one and a half years, said local media. Those HD-DVD players, adopting the movement jointly developed by the Taiwan-based company and Japan's TDK, will be completed by China Great Wall Computer Group Corporation.
Price of the HD-DVD (High Definition-Digital Video Disc) player will be USD 299 per unit only. Compared with the same-level products of Toshiba and Philips, price of the Taiwan-based company's products are much favorable. There is...
