AsiaInfo Services 04-30-2007 China Minmetals to Invest More in Latin America BEIJING, Apr 30, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Minmetals Corp., the nation's largest base-metals firm, plans to invest more in Latin America over the next few years in a bid to fuel the expansion of its non-ferrous metal business, said Zhang Shoulian, president of the Beijing-based company, on April 25. Zhang said the company's investment in Latin America will be sure to be enlarged, but declined to reveal more about the exact size of the investment. So far the company has entered into an agreement with Chile's state-owned Codelco, the world's largest copper miner, on setting up a joint venture in Chile.
