AsiaInfo Services 05-15-2007 China Unicom Head Beat back Rumors about Assets Sell BEIJING, May 15, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Chang Xiaobing, Chairman and CEO of China Unicom, said that the company has been prepared, and was confident of providing 3G services in the hosting cities of Beijing Olympic Games next year, which is seen as a heavy counterpunch to the long-spreading reports about the company's network sale. So far, no timetable about China's regrouping of the telecoms industry, as well as the release of 3G licenses has been worked out by the regulator, but Unicom, the smaller of the nation's two mobile operators, has not gave up the plan for long development and is also prepared for a role in the future 3G telecoms market, according to the chairman. ...
