AsiaInfo Services 06-06-2007 China Mobile's IM Tool Starts Commercial Operation BEIJING, Jun 06, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Fetion, a new mobile instant messaging service launched by China's largest mobile telecom operator China Mobile last year, stopped its half-year-long trial operation on June 4 and has started formal commercial operation since June 5. To everyone's surprise, this service, which allows subscribers to chat with other mobile phone users as well as personal computer users, will be free of charge. As one of the Chinese telecom giant's key profit growth points in the future, Fetion should achieve total subscribers of more than 10 million in the first half of 2007, of which 3.5 million should be active subscribers.
