AsiaInfo Services 06-20-2007 Japanese Telecom Giant Eyes China's 3G Market BEIJING, Jun 20, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest mobile telecom operator, announced on June 18 that it plans to invest in China, Vietnam or India, in an effort to recover its business in the booming overseas market. The Japanese telecom giant decided to focus on local telecom service after it suffered a huge loss of USD 9 billion in overseas investment six years ago. It will be a great challenge for the company to enter into China independently as the Chinese government has not decided to grant the 3G licenses to any foreign telecom operators, said Masao Nakamura, president of the Japanese company.
