FIAT TO COOPERATE WITH CHERY TO MAKE ALFA ROMEO

AsiaInfo Services 06-21-2007 Fiat to Cooperate with Chery to Make Alfa Romeo WUHU, Jun 21, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Fiat Group, an Italian automobile giant, has reached a framework agreement on manufacturing Alfa Romeo cars with Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., a home-grown automaker in China. Chery Automobile will be an OEM for Fiat's Alfa Romeo, a high-end sports car brand, helping the Italian automaker out in its poor situation in China. The Italian automaker has cooperated with Chery Automobile in engines.
The latter supplies 100,000 1.6L and 1.8L gasoline engines in total to the former annually, and will supply ACTECO engines to the latter's Linea cars, which will be produced and sold in China in 2012. Fiat has planned to sell 300,000 cars in China in...
