AsiaInfo Services 07-27-2007 China Netcom to Earn from Olympics on Which It Bets Heavily on BEIJING, Jul 27, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Netcom, the nation's second largest fixed-line telephone operator after China Telecom, plans to invest more than CNY 1 billion in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, revealed a senior executive of the Beijing-based company. As one of the communication partners of the Beijing Olympic Games, China Netcom has launched large-scale telecom constructions for the Olympic venues and related marketing activities, in an effort to gain from the event.
