AsiaInfo Services 08-15-2007 China Mobile Rivals China Unicom with Dual GSM Card Phones BEIJING, Aug 15, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- A well-informed source says four homegrown mobile phone manufacturers including Lenovo Group Limited and Haier Group have won the order to supply dual GSM card phones for China Mobile. The dual GSM card phones can have two GSM-based SIM cards in operation simultaneously, different from China Unicom's "World Wind" dual-mode phones, which support both GSM and CDMA cards. Mobile phone manufacturers at home and abroad have been actively preparing for China Mobile's procurement. Analyses of telecom consulting agencies like Norson says China Unicom's "World Wind" has been promoted for years and very successful.
