UNICOM'S CDMA ASSETS PRICED TOO HIGH

AsiaInfo Services 08-16-2007 Unicom's CDMA Assets Priced too High SHENZHEN, Aug 16, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Credit Suisse lately released a report shows that China Unicom, the second largest mobile telecom carrier in China after China Mobile, is said to sell its CDMA assets to China Telecom, the number one landline telephone operator in the country. However, the purchase price of USD 14.6 billion is very high, may be too high for China Telecom to take it.
According to the evaluation conducted by Credit Suisse, it is merely worth of USD 8 billion to USD 8.5 billion. Now leaders of the two telecom giants are still in talks, but so far nothing has been concluded. Credit Suisse says that the possibility of split of China Unicom is super high. China...
