AsiaInfo Services 08-24-2007 Citizen Watch to Tap High-end Watch Market in China BEIJING, Aug 24, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Japan-based Citizen Watch Co., Ltd., discloses that it will give up the low-end products, quartz watches, and focus on high-end products, like eco-drive watches and mechanical watches, to increase its sales revenue in China's market next year. Citizen quartz watches used to be very popular in China's market but are replaced by the Swiss luxury watches like Omega, Longines, and Rolex watches, gradually. Citizen sold 200,000 watches last year, coming atop in China's watch market by sales volume, but it only ranked the 7th by sales revenue, because quartz watches, while contributing a large amount to its sales, contribute little to sales...
