AsiaInfo Services 08-28-2007 China Unicom's Net Profit up 38.9% in H1 BEIJING, Aug 28, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China Unicom Limited (SEHK: 0762; NYSE: CHU) released its financial report for the first half of this year. The company earned total revenue of CNY 49.17 billion, a 5.1% rise from the corresponding period of last year, among which GSM service business contributed CNY 30.96 billion, CDMA service business CNY 13.49 billion and long distance data & Internet access business CNY 2 billion. The pre-tax profit and adjusted profit touched CNY 5.65 billion and CNY 3.77 billion respectively, up 38.9% and 34.6% from a year ago, and the earning per share was CNY 0.297. The company's cell phone users topped 151.632 million, a net increase of 9.266 million....
