AsiaInfo Services 09-05-2007 Philips Stops Production of Digital TV Set Top Boxes SHANGHAI, Jul 09, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Sources say because the business in China ran not well, Philips (China) Investment Co., Ltd. recently closed its production divisions of set top boxes for digital TVs.
The management in charge of the business has been in exodus. Insiders remark that homegrown companies in this field currently are all suffering losses. An analyst says due to the uncertain prospect of China's digital TV market, Philips is most likely to temporarily withdraw its business.
