AsiaInfo Services 10-18-2007 GfK Group Acquires 2 Chinese Market Research Firms BEIJING, Oct 18, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- German-based consumer durables research firm GfK Group has acquired its two major rivals in the Chinese market, Beijing-based China Market Monitor (CMM) and Beijing-based Sino Market Research Ltd.
(Sino-MR), recently, Andy Zhao, president of China arm of GfK, said on October 16, 2007. GfK is said to have acquired CMM for CNY 50 million and Sino-MR for CNY 100 million. After the acquisition, CMM and Sino-MR will continue to operate independently under their own brands. However, the two companies and their new parent will focus on different businesses.
