AsiaInfo Services 10-24-2007 Agricultural Bank of China Gazes at Village Banks BEIJING, Oct 24, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Agricultural Bank of China, one of the Big Four lenders in China, is studying on taking a stake in village banks, intending to make experimental units in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Hubei province as a sponsor. In the first three quarters of 2007, the bank totally granted up to CNY 1.133434 trillion loan to villages and counties, accounting for 50.74% of its total lending. The bank provided CNY 34.74 billion loan for the industrialization of agriculture in the three quarters, including CNY 29.729 billion for the nation- and province-level locomotive enterprises in the sector.
