AsiaInfo Services 11-13-2007 Staples & UPS Unite to Contend for China Express Market BEIJING, Nov 13, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS), the world's leading retailer of office products, and UPS, a large express service provider, jointly announced that they would set up a joint venture to open co-branded stores in China in an effort to grab more shares of the country's express market. The first two stores, named Staples UPS Express, will be opened in Beijing and two more will be opened in Shanghai by the end of 2007. The store will focus on China's retailing office products market for small-and medium-size companies, which is becoming a major battle field for global logistics giants as well as China's domestic logistics providers. ...
