AsiaInfo Services 11-14-2007 The9: Granado Espada to be Free for Chinese Players SHANGHAI, Nov 14, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Shanghai-based online game operator The9 Ltd. (Nasdaq: NCTY) announced on November 13, 2007 that the Granado Espada it operated in China would be free for local players. The9 will not charge them hourly fee.
It will make a profit by selling virtual equipment. Granado Espada was developed by Korean game celebrity Kim Hakkyu and his team. It has been launched in 15 markets around the world by now, all with different charge modes. The9 was authorized by IMC Games Co., Ltd. to operate the game in China in September 2004.
