AsiaInfo Services 11-16-2007 Microsoft Promotes Short Domain Names BEIJING, Nov 16, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Microsoft Corporation recently began to use two short domain names w.cn and 9.cn. They are easy to remember. Users need not to enter complete domain names in the address bar of their browsers, they can just tap w.cn or 9.cn, and then they have access to the register page of Microsoft Live services and software products.
Moreover, they need not bother to shift between capital and small letters, because either can bring them into the target page. This is particularly convenient for Chinese users who are not familiar with English. Previously, Google Inc. simplified its Chinese domain name to G.cn.
