AsiaInfo Services 12-28-2007 China Steel Product Export tariffs to Rise in 2008 BEIJING, Dec 28, 2007 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China is to adjust import and export tariffs on 334 products from January 1, 2008. Export tariffs on some steel products will be lifted from 15% to 25%. While, import duties on fuel, alumina, and refined copper will be cut or canceled, according to the nation's Ministry of Finance. Export duty on coke is to increase from 15% to 25% and that on crude oil will remain 5%.

Export duties on steel billets and pig irons are to rise from currently 12% to 25%, on reinforced steel, steel wire, steel bar, and steel strip up 5% to 15%, and on general welded tubes from zero to 15%. China will reduce import tariffs on energy and resource, an...
