AsiaInfo Services 01-10-2008 Chinese Netizens to Hit 244mn in 08 BEIJING, Jan 10, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- The Internet Society of China forecasted on January 8, 2008 that the number of Chinese Internet users would reach 244 million in 2008, surging 34.1% from that in 2007, according to its Netguide 2008 China Internet Survey Report. The figure soared 33.8% year over year to 182 million in 2007, accounting for 13.8% of the nation's total population.
Users aged at between 19 and 25 made up 46.4% of the total; those between 26 and 30, 25.4%; and those between 31 and 35, 11.3%. 54.3% of the users owned desktops and 25.5% of the uses had laptops.
