AsiaInfo Services 01-24-2008 China B-share Market Sags on A-share Market Decline SHANGHAI, Jan 24, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- With steep decline of the Chinese yuan-denominated A-share market, the US and Hong Kong dollar-denominated B-share markets of Shanghai and Shenzhen also suffered plummet on January 22. SSE (Shanghai Stock Exchange) B Share Index opened at 325.94 and closed at 307.38, down 9.27 percent.
SSE (Shenzhen Stock Exchange) B Share Index opened at 646.41 and ended at 609.33, off 8.73 percent. The turnover of the B-share stocks on both markets was CNY 1.081 billion and CNY 683 million on the day, expanding from the previous trading day.
