CHINA STEEL EXPORT REBOUNDED IN DECEMBER 2007

AsiaInfo Services 01-11-2008 China Steel Export Rebounded in December 2007 BEIJING, Jan 11, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Steel product export of China rebounded in December 2007, increasing 680,000 tons from that in November to 4.78 million tons, but 13.9% lower than that a year earlier, latest customs statistics said. China exported steel products of 62.65 million tons in the full year of 2007, jumping 45.8% year over year.
The figure is 8.7 percentage points less than the year-on-year increment for the prior 11 months. The export of steel billet reached 130,000 tons in December 2007, 40,000 tons lower than that in November, while the January-December figure was 6.43 million tons, declining 28.9% year over year.
