AsiaInfo Services 02-20-2008 Compal: Kunshan Factory Not to Move to Vietnam TAIPEI, Feb 20, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Compal Electronics, Inc. (TPE: 2324), one of the world's largest laptop computer original design manufacturers, will not move its factory in the eastern Chinese city of Kunshan to Vietnam, said the Taiwan company. Compal Electronics is to transfer all the production capacity in its Kunshan factory to anther factory in Vietnam, a report on February 18, 2008 said, and the Vietnam factory is expected to produce 25 million laptops a year in 2014, becoming Compal's biggest manufacturing base in the world.
