AsiaInfo Services 02-21-2008 SP Chemicals Brews Petrochemical JV in South Vietnam VIETNAM, Feb 21, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Singapore-based SP Chemicals Limited, one of the biggest ion-membrane chlor-alkali and aniline producer in China, expects to build up the biggest petrochemical company in Vietnam in Phu Yen Province in South Vietnam and is negotiating with the Vietnamese side now. The joint venture, which will likely need investment of USD 4 billion, is expected to start operation in 2014, with annual capacity of 800,000 tons of new types of petrochemicals like dichloroethane. Established in Singapore, SP Chemicals got listed on the main board of the SGX-ST on August 6, 2003.
