SONY UNVEILS OLED TVS IN CHINA

AsiaInfo Services 02-28-2008 Sony Unveils OLED TVs in China BEIJING, Feb 28, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Japanese electronics maker Sony Corp. unveiled its Organic Light Emitting Display (OLED) TVs in China on February 26. In fact, Panasonic and Samsung also had exhibited OLED TVs under their own brands at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show in January 2008, but have not launched them into markets yet. Sony, which commenced research on the OLED technology from 1994, began selling OLED TVs in the US and Japan markets at the beginning of this year. Later, the company announced on February 19 that it would invest about JPY 22 billion to strengthen the production technology of medium- and large-sized OLED panels.
