AsiaInfo Services 03-12-2008 China B-shares Dive on August 1 SHANGHAI, Aug 03, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- On August 1, 2007, the B-share index on Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 311.4 points, almost the lowest point on the day, dropping 5.09%. The B-share index of Shenzhen Stock Exchange fell 17.48 points, or 2.24%, to 762.92 points at last. The fall resulted from the fluctuating Shanghai Composite Index and Shenzhen Component Index, two key stock indices in China. On August 1, the turnover in Shanghai rose 30 percent and in Shenzhen jumped nearly 50 percent. About 90% B-shares on the two stock exchanges suffered drop and up to 21 ones hit limit-down.
