AsiaInfo Services 03-20-2008 Alibaba.com Net Profit Up 340% in 07 HONG KONG, Mar 20, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Alibaba.com Ltd. (SEHK: 1688), a B2B subsidiary of Alibaba Group, gained CNY 967.8 million net profits in 2007, soaring 340% year on year. Its operating revenue amounted to CNY 2.1628 billion, up 58.6% from the previous year.
The operating revenue is mainly driven up by the increasing number of its paid users and their average spending in China and abroad, pointed out market observers. As of the end of 2007, Alibaba owned 305,545 paid users, up 39.5% from the corresponding period of 2006. The company will try to further explore its business among small-and medium-sized companies in China while quicken its overseas expansion steps in the near future. ...
