AsiaInfo Services 03-27-2008 Eli Lilly to Fuel Expansion in China BEIJING, Mar 27, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- US-based pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) prefers to cooperate with Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturers rather than launch mergers and acquisitions in the nation, said Sidney Taurel, board chairman of the company. China has become one of the fastest-growing markets for Lilly, in which it embraced an annual growth of about 28 percent in 2007.
