AsiaInfo Services 06-16-2009 China May Be Porsche's 2nd Biggest Market BEIJING, Jun 16, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Porsche AG, a Germany-based luxury car manufacturer, announced that China would possibly take the place of Germany within three years as its second biggest market worldwide only after the US. In the first five months of 2009, the company sold 3,174 cars in China, climbing up 3% from a year earlier.
In particular, its May sales volume jumped 44% year on year to 900 cars. Porsche has gained orders of over 100 Panamera cars in Mainland China, and the figure will likely reach 600 before the formal marketing. Moreover, it has received orders of about 100 cars in Hong Kong. The carmaker plans to lift the number of dealers in China...
