AsiaInfo Services 06-19-2009 51.com Gives up Caihong Software BEIJING, Jun 19, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Chinese social networking services (SNS) site 51.com confirmed on June 19 that it completely ceased the operation and maintenance of Caihong software and stopped upgrading Caihong.com. In future, the company will spare no effort in developing instant messaging (IM) products, in an attempt to make inroads into the IM market, according to an executive for 51.com. Caihong software is a QQ plug-in application developed by 51.com.
The software, which can be used to get IP addresses of Internet users and block advertisements, once was popular with users. At the end of 2008, 51.com declared to give up researching and developing the software...
