Dusa builds plant in Brazil.

DuPont Sabanci (Dusa), a joint venture between DuPont and Haci Omer Sabanci on a 50-50 basis, will start operating in Brazil as of January, 1999. It will invest US$15mil to build a 6.6 nylon plant in Camacari, Stat of Bahia, where DuPont already produces it at the plant it acquired from Cobafi. DuPont annually produces 12,000 tons in Brazil and 15,000 tons in Argentina. Dusa's plant will start up by June, 1999. It will build a similar plant in Argentina by the year 2000. The Brazilian nylon 6.6 market is worth US$120mil per year (sales volume totals 32,000 tons).
