Argentina: Telefonica, Telecom agree on public telephone services.

Telefonica de Argentina and Telecom have agreed in the interconnection rate for public telephone services, a segment that was deregulated by the government last December. The incoming call operator is to pay 85% of the cost to the dominant operator for the use of the infrastructure and networks. The agreement needs the green light from the Secretaria de Comunicaciones to be effective. Other cellular mobile telephone companies such as Movicom and CTI have recently moved in the public telephone services and will also render basic telephone services will also sign agreement s with Telecom and Telefonica.
