Argentina: Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette to acquire beverage companies.

The investment fund Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette is bound to create a major beverages company in Argentina starting with the acquisition of Villavicencio and Resero, both companies from Cartellone group, for which they offered between US$280mil - US$300mil. Now they are completing negotiations to acquire the wineries Santa Ana and Michel Tonino. The next move from Donaldson Lufkin is to acquire the 38% share of the bottling company Baesa (Pepsi Cola, 7Up, Paso de los Toros) from the creditor banks Citibank, BankBoston, and Bayerische Vereinsbank.
