Brazil: Anatel fines R$2.8mil Embratel.

The Brazilian telecoms agency Anatel has fined R$2.8mil the long distance carrier Embratel as the company, under control of MCI, has not informed the agency on decisions affecting the Intelsat satellites organization. Embratel, the representative of Brazil in Intelsat, hasnot brought in R$88mil to increase the Brazilian share in Intelsat from 2,10% to 4,87%, missing an opportunity that had its deadline on March 17. The move benefited the US Comsat, that with the lack of decision of Embratel of took the share earmarked to Brazil.
