Brazil: Audi starts distribution of A3 model.

Audi has started distribution of the A3 model, assembled in a plant co-owned with Volkswagen at S=E3o Jose dos Pinhais, Parana state where it is also assembled the Golf model. The unit has capacity for 700 unitsper day, and the Audi cars will be distributed by Senna Import through 32 resellers. A3 models will be priced 11,5% less than imported similars. Audi sold 4,691 cars in 1998 of which 65% A3 models, and plans are to double sales in 2000.
