Brazil: Telefonica ready for Y2K bug.

Telefonica worked on the Y2K bug in Brazil over the past 2 years, having invested some R$35.8mil over the period. The company finished testing its computer systems in Sao Paulo between end August and early September. Telefonica tested 29,453 computers and systems, 11, 576telephone equipment, 33,000 softwares, 18mil programming lines and 9, 000 personal computers and other items like faxes, photocopiers, air conditioning systems and electronic alarms.
